People: Nelson, iWorkGlobal, On Assignment, MRINetwork, Allegis Partners and more

The Nelson Family of Cos., a staffing provider based in Sonoma, Calif., appointed Jim Wagner as senior VP. In this role, Wagner will oversee two Nelson divisions that focus on specialty staffing and workforce solutions: Nelson & Associates, serving the accounting, finance and legal fields, and Nelson Technology, serving the technology and engineering fields. Wagner takes over the role after the previous senior VP of Nelson & Associates, Joe Madigan, who was promoted to executive VP of Nelson and assumed organizationwide strategic leadership responsibilities.

iWorkGlobal, added Sarah Lovelace-Strahl as VP of sales. Lovelace-Strahl comes to iWorkGlobal from a software company providing vendor management system solutions for contingent labor. Prior to this role, she held positions in human capital management.

On Assignment Inc. (NYSE: ASGN) reported in a US Securities and Exchange Commission filing that Mariel Joliet on Dec. 15 accepted a nomination to serve as an independent member on its board and a member of the board’s audit committee. Joliet has been an advisor to the board and the audit committee since January 2016. She most recently served as senior VP and treasurer at Hilton Hotels Corp. and was instrumental in its sale to the Blackstone Group for $27 billion.

MRINetwork, a subsidiary of CDI Corp. (NYSE: CDI), announced new franchisees opened three new offices: Michael Berry, Pinnacle Elite Group, Investment banking; Paul Giletta, LS Alliance: Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and diagnostic manufacturing engineers in North America; Danay Ramirez and Lucia Scola, Blackledger Staffing Advisors (MR Coral Gables): accounting and finance

Executive search firm Allegis Partners, part of Allegis Group, announced Keith Meyer joined the firm as global practice leader, CEO and board practice. Prior to joining Allegis Partners, Meyer was the founder and managing partner of Park Avenue Advisors, a board of directors and CEO advisory firm. He is also the CEO of Directors Academy Inc., a national not-for-profit focused on accelerating shareholder value creation through the development and proactive placement of the next generation of diverse directors. He will maintain this role during a transition period until a replacement is named and will remain on its board of directors.

1218 Inc. appointed Kim Wells to the position of COO, effective Jan. 1 and reports to CEO Nick McCune. Wells most recently was global head of the candidate value office global head, candidate value office (talent acquisition, assessment, and development) at Adecco for nearly five years until a restructuring eliminated the position at the end of August 2016. Wells replaces Holly Cohoon, who held the role of COO in a part-time capacity. Cohoon will remain with the company, focusing full-time on its human resources function.

Joshua Trujillo will join mindSCOPE Software Ltd. as COO on Monday. Trujillo is the former director of IT infrastructure and support for Randstad Canada. Trujillo will be based out of Montreal, Canada.

Snagajob named Peter Merholz as its new head of design. Merholz founded the user experience company, Adaptive Path, and joined Snagajob after leading design at Groupon and Jawbone

Talent Rover, a provider of cloud-based software for managing staffing and recruitment workflow, named Steve May as VP of operations. May joins Talent Rover from Salesforce where he served as VP of commercial sales. He will be based in San Francisco.
