Managed service provider Geometric Results Inc. named Jill Parrino as COO. For the past four years, Parrino held the role of VP of solutions and innovation. In her new role, all operations employees including client relationship management, service delivery, implementation, solutions and innovation/best practices, and a new operations division — mid-market strategy — will be under her purview.

Alexander Mann Solutions, a London-based of RPO and MSP services, appointed Marisa Kacary to the newly created role of global director of brand, marketing and communications. Kacary previously held the post of director of marketing and communications at the organization between 2008 and 2011. She also founded an in-house employer brand and recruitment communications business targeting the RPO industry and is a nonexecutive director of the Savannah Group.

Online staffing provider Upwork, the largest B2B human cloud firm, announced that it appointed Gary Steele to its board of directors, effective Aug. 5. Steele is chairman of the board and CEO of Proofpoint Inc., a cybersecurity and compliance company, and has more than 30 years of technology industry. Upwork this month filed for an initial public offering with plans to list on the Nasdaq exchange.

Gray Scalable, a New York-based company providing human resource solutions for startup and growth-stage companies, named Eric Tenety as its new head of executive search. Tenety has 17 years of talent acquisition experience with venture capital and private equity portfolio companies, as well as publicly listed businesses.

Witt/Kieffer, an executive search firm headquartered in an Oak Brook, Ill., announced Jen Meyers Pickard joined the firm as a consultant in its education practice. Pickard has nearly two decades of leadership experience in higher education administration and most recently was assistant VP for divisional initiatives and planning at the University of Arizona.

Nextaff, the franchised staffing agency division of Malone Workforce Solutions, announced Tom Moreland will open its first office in Des Moines, Iowa, on Monday. The location will provide healthcare staffing solutions to the five-county Des Moines metropolitan area. Moreland is currently the CEO of Spirit Cares, a Des Moines-based home health care provider.
