People: Boyden, Uber, Vaco, Witt/Kieffer, Koya and more

Boyden, an executive search firm operating in more than 40 countries, named Victor Escandón as its CFO. He will be responsible for all of the firm’s strategic financial activities and initiatives, and report directly to President and CEO Trina Gordon. Most recently, Escandón was senior director of corporate finance for four years at Daymon Worldwide. 

Human cloud/ride-sharing firm Uber hired Nikki Krishnamurthy as its new head of human resources, Recode reported. She replaces Liane Hornsey, who left the company under a controversy around how the ride-hailing company handled issues of racial discrimination. Krishnamurthy joins Uber from Expedia, where she had worked with Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi. 

Staffing provider Vaco appointed Phillip Noe as its new chief information officer, effective Oct. 1; He previously held several roles with The Adecco Group and most recently was CIO for the North American region. Vaco also promoted Frances Moreno, co-founder and managing partner of Vaco Los Angeles, to senior partner for Vaco, a newly created role to help establish greenfield locations and introduce Vaco to new markets. And the company promoted Frances Moreno, partner and leader of Vaco Los Angeles’ executive search practice, to national director for accounting and finance executive search for Vaco, where she will help guide strategy and develop teams around the world.

Witt/Kieffer, an executive search firm headquartered in Oak Brook, Ill., added Nathaniel Hook as managing director in its global life sciences practice. He most recently was a partner at CTPartners, working in both the healthcare and life sciences sectors, and previously was a partner at Odgers Berndtson, where he established its health technology specialty. Hook is based in London. Witt/Kieffer also announced Brian Krehbiel joined the firm as principal and leader of its new practice, Witt/Kieffer Interim Leadership, an expansion of the firm’s healthcare practice; Krehbiel most recently was VP with a national executive search firm where he helped establish its interim search practice.

Newburyport, Mass.-based Koya Leadership Partners, a retained executive search firm serving the nonprofit sector, hired Maureen Alphonse-Charles as managing director. She has 20 years of executive search experience and most recently was senior VP and COO of The Partnership Inc., a consulting firm that helps organizations develop diverse leadership pipelines.

International specialist recruitment firm Phaidon International named Alyssa Daugherty — previously its client manager for top-tier global clients — as director to lead its new team in Charlotte, NC. The company on Oct. 1 launched a team in New York to remotely cover the region and will open a local Charlotte branch on Jan. 2, 2019. The launch will include two of Phaidon International’s brands: Selby Jennings which targets financial services niche staffing; and DSJ Global, which provides professional services including supply chain, procurement, logistics, and financial planning and analysis.

Swoon Group announced Quyen Pham, regional director, West Coast, who joined the company about six months ago, will lead a new team in the Phoenix area. Swoon provides talent solutions in technology, marketing, and finance and accounting fields for organizations throughout the US and Canada.

Daley And Associates LLC, an executive search and contract staffing firm, announced Carrie Bresnick will now lead its legal search division. Prior to joining Daley and Associates, she was a litigator focused on malpractice and liability issues.
