People: AMN, Heidrick, CareerBuilder and more

AMN Healthcare Services Inc. (NYSE: AHS), the largest US healthcare staffing provider, announced Dr. Cole Edmonson will join the company as chief clinical officer. He will fill the position held by Dr. Marcia Faller, who is retiring at the beginning of 2019; Faller will continue with AMN in a consulting capacity. Edmonson most recently was chief nursing officer at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, a position he held since 2010.

Executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles International Inc. (NASD: HSII) appointed Sarah Payne as chief human resources officer. She replaces Rick Greene, who will return to the market as a partner in Heidrick Consulting. Payne joined the company in 2015 as VP, global compensation and most recently was VP, human resources, global executive search. Prior to joining Heidrick & Struggles, she was director of global executive compensation at global agribusiness company Bunge; earlier she was global director of compensation and benefits at satellite communications company PanAmSat.

CareerBuilder promoted Michelle Armer to chief people officer — a new role within the company — and as a member of its executive team. She will implement best practices for management and professional development for employees and institute organizational processes. Armer joined the company as an HR coordinator and most recently was director of human resources.

ConsultNet, a provider of IT staffing and solutions, added Amy Esser as its new VP of human resources to oversee organizational development and employee relations. Esser has more than 16 years of HR experience and most recently worked at the McCann Worldgroup as senior VP, regional director of human resources.

Nextaff, the franchised staffing agency division of Malone Workforce Solutions, announced James “Jim” Bohn and his wife, Marjorie Bohn, on Dec. 3 opened its first location in Sonoma County, Calif. The office will provide staffing solutions to businesses in all industries. Jim Bohn has 15 years of experience in retail, business sales and management in the telecommunications industry.
