People: AMN, Continuum Health IT, Insperity, Thumbtack, Snag and more

AMN Healthcare Services Inc. (NYSE: AHS), the largest US healthcare staffing provider, announced Carolina Araya, senior VP of client management in its nursing division, has been named VP of the board of the National Association of Travel Healthcare Organizations. NATHO is a nonprofit association of travel healthcare organizations that strives to define an industrywide gold standard of conduct on behalf of both travel healthcare candidates and clients.

Continuum Health IT, a healthcare IT consulting and staffing company headquartered in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, announced Jeff Macko joined the company as president and managing partner, leading the firm’s sales organization. Macko previously spent more than 20 years in the staffing and consulting industry with global consulting firms.

Professional employer organization Insperity Inc. (NYSE: NSP) named Amber Piller as district manager at its new district office in Portland, Oregon, responsible for directing the company’s sales efforts throughout that state. Piller has 25 years of sales and management experience.

Thumbtack named Lily Sarafan to its board. Thumbtack is an online services marketplace that connects workers with consumers similar to a B2C human cloud firm, although it does not process payments. Sarafan is president and CEO of Home Care Assistance, a provider of home care for seniors throughout North America. Thumbtack’s board now consists of six members, including Denis Grosz, cofounder, BestReviews; Jed Katz, managing director, Javelin Venture Partners; Bryan Schreier, partner, Sequoia; Jonathan Swanson, cofounder, Thumbtack; and Marco Zappacosta, CEO and cofounder, Thumbtack.

Snag, a job board focused on hourly workers, announced appointments to its senior executive team. Senior VP for Legal and Business Affairs Michael Culver most recently was general counsel at Elance and deputy general counsel at its successor company Upwork; Chief Marketing Officer Mathieu Stevenson most recently was CMO at Blucora; CFO Nino DeSapio joins Snag after eight years with Groupon, where he was CFO of the company’s international business and played a key role in the company’s IPO.

Executive search firm Korn Ferry International Inc. (NYSE: KFY) appointed Tim Nelson as managing director of its Australasian operations, effective May 1. Nelson initially joined Korn Ferry in 1998 and subsequently launched its recruitment process outsourcing business across Australasia and Asia. He rejoined Korn Ferry in 2014 and in 2016 was appointed managing director of Korn Ferry’s advisory business unit in Australasia. Nelson succeeds Katie Lahey, who after eight years as CEO and then executive chairman, will remain with the firm as nonexecutive chairman. Lahey has recently been appointed to the Carnival Corp. board and is a nonexecutive director of Star Entertainment.

Uber Technologies Inc announced Amit Jain, head of its Asia-Pacific operations, is leaving at the end of May after four years with the human cloud, ride-sharing firm. Pierre-Dimitri Gore-Coty will take responsibility for the firm’s Asia Pacific Rides business, in addition to his current role leading Rides teams across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
