PEO software firm PrismHR acquires Summit Software

PEO software firm PrismHR acquired fellow PEO software provider Summit Software, according to an announcement today.

PrismHR provides payroll, benefits and HR software to professional employer organizations and administrative services organization. Summit Software also provides HR and payroll management software for PEOs, temporary staffing firms and payroll processing firms.

Human resource outsourcers “are seeing increased competition on a number of fronts, and the combined company will provide more ways to help HROs retain and acquire business,” said Gary Noke, president and CEO of PrismHR. “Today’s announcement helps strengthen the PEO and ASO industry and gives Summit customers more options for the future.

Terms of the transaction were not available. A call to PrismHR was not returned by press time.

Summit Software has a client base of more than 140 firms in payroll and human resource administration, and pays more than 1 million employees a month, according to its website. The company is based in Little Rock, Ark.

Sean Flanagan, former owner of Summit Software, will be the executive VP of the Summit operating unit at PrismHR and report to PrismHR management. The Summit operating unit will continue to be located in Little Rock and focus on providing ongoing maintenance, regulatory updates and customer support for Summit software.
