Ontario companies concerned about Bill 148 rules requiring equal pay for temporary employees (The Globe and Mail)

Ontario companies are readying for new rules that make it mandatory for employers in Ontario to pay casual, part-time, temporary and seasonal employees doing “substantially the same work” the same as full-time, permanent staff. However, both employers and labor advocates are concerned that the regulations are too broad and are causing confusion, The Globe and Mail newspaper reports. The new rules are part of Bill 148.
