On Assignment splits CEO and president roles

January 03, 2017

On Assignment Inc. (NYSE: ASGN) promoted Ted Hanson to president of the Calabasas, Calif.-based firm, effective immediately. CEO Peter Dameris previously served as both president and CEO, but handed the president role over to Hanson in order to focus on bigger-picture items as the company continues a period of growth.

Hanson will report to Dameris and be responsible for management of operations. Hanson most recently served as executive VP of On Assignment and president of its lab support unit. His promotion is part of an established executive development and succession planning program, according to the company.

“In his new role, Ted will be responsible for overseeing our business operations and supporting our strong high-performance culture,” said Dameris. “Over the last 18 years, Ted has been a key executive of On Assignment or its operating divisions. During that time, he has held increasingly higher levels of responsibility.”

Hanson joined On Assignment as CFO of Apex Systems, which was acquired by the company in May 2012. In January 2014, he was promoted to the role of president of lab support and in January 2016 became an executive VP of On Assignment. Hanson joined Apex Systems in November 1998 as corporate controller and became CFO in January 2001.

On Assignment company ranks as the 10th-largest US staffing firm.
