North Dakota and Colorado post lowest jobless rates

North Dakota and Colorado posted the lowest unemployment rate among all states in July, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. The jobless rate was 2.2% in North Dakota and 2.4% in Colorado.

Alaska recorded the highest jobless rate among all states at 7.0% in July.

The BLS reported little change in unemployment rates among US states in July. Only Alaska, Maine and South Dakota recorded increases in their jobless rates. Texas was the only state to report a notable decrease; the jobless rate there fell 0.3 of a percentage point to 4.3%.
