February 01, 2019

More than one in 10 Americans said they have called in sick the day after a Super Bowl, according a poll of 216 employers and job seekers by job board Monster.

It found that 12.0% of those surveyed said they had called in sick the day after the Super Bowl to recover from celebrating.

It also asked employers and job seekers if watching the Super Bowl makes them wish they’d pursued their athletic dreams. It found 19.9% said it would if they had enough athletic ability, and 11.1% said they are still trying to make that dream come true.

Super Bowl LIII takes place this Sunday in Atlanta between the New England Patriots and the Los Angeles Rams.
