Medical Solutions to acquire healthcare staffing firm PPR

February 09, 2018

Medical Solutions, an Omaha, Neb.-based nurse staffing firm, agreed to acquire PPR, a provider of travel nurse staffing and interim leadership for acute and post-acute markets.

This marks Medical Solution’s first publicized deal since it was acquired by private equity firm TPG Growth in June from Beecken Petty O’Keefe & Co.; the company said the transaction creates the second-largest travel nurse staffing company in the US.

PPR, a 22-year-old firm, will continue to operate as its own brand and will keep its offices in both Jacksonville and Tampa, Fla. Medical Solutions acquired PPR from Trivest Partners, which partnered with the company in 2016. The transaction is subject to standard conditions, including regulatory clearance, and is expected to close this quarter. Additional terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

“The addition of PPR will enable Medical Solutions to diversify into new care settings, expand its MSP efforts, and continue recruiting best-in-class talent across the business,” said Shamik Patel of TPG Growth.

PPR operates through two brands: PPR places registered nurses, allied health professionals and leadership positions in travel contracts in acute care, post-acute care and school settings nationwide; 360 Healthcare Staffing, which it acquired in 2017, targets the post-acute market.

Medical Solutions ranks sixth on Staffing Industry Analysts’ 2017 list of largest healthcare staffing firms in the US, and third on the list of largest travel nurse staffing firms in the US.
