Median base pay for recruiter with three to five years of experience is $45,000: SIA tool

The median base salary for a recruiter in the staffing industry with three to five years of experience is $45,000, according to the new US Internal Employee Compensation Estimator 2018 Edition, released last month by Staffing Industry Analysts. However, median total compensation including commissions and incentive pay is $67,000.

SIA’s Internal Employee Compensation Estimator allows staffing firms to benchmark and compare their compensation and bonuses against other staffing firms.

The estimator provides compensation data based on years of industry experience, staffing segment, job title and company size. A new feature this year also allows users to adjust results to a specific location – such as a particular state, metro or nonmetro area.

“This year we added a significant enhancement which allows users to select a geographic area which then localizes all the compensation figures in the tool,” Research Analyst Maxim Kupfer said.

Compensation in all industries, not just staffing, remains a hot topic for both employers and employees. Fox News reported US job quits in December rose at their fastest pace in 17 years, signaling higher pay.

An earlier SIA report found total compensation fell by a median 4.01% in 2016 among the two highest-paid executives at a selection of 44 publicly traded staffing, executive search, and other workforce ecosystem firms.
