ManpowerGroup, Heidrick announce new board members

ManpowerGroup (NYSE: MAN) and Heidrick & Struggles International Inc. (NASD: HSII) announced new board members.

ManpowerGroup announced yesterday that John Ferraro, former global COO of Ernst & Young, was elected to its board effective Jan. 1, 2016.

“We’re delighted to welcome John to the board — he is a superb fit,” said ManpowerGroup CEO Jonas Prising. “His impressive global experience in professional services is well-suited to our business and he will be a great asset to ManpowerGroup's future.”

Prising will become chairman of the board on Dec. 31.

Ferraro joined Ernst & Young in 1976 and was a partner for 26 years. He served as global COO for the last eight years until his retirement in January 2015. Ferraro held various leadership positions in his tenure with the firm, including Americas managing partner/vice chair of client services and global vice chair of audit. He also served as a member of Ernst & Young’s global executive board for more than 12 years. 

Ferraro is also a director of Advance Auto Parts Inc., International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. and is the chair of the Marquette University Board of Trustees.    

Executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles appointed Lyle Logan to its board of directors as an independent member, effective today. Logan will also serve on the firm’s nominating and governance committee.

“We are pleased to welcome Lyle to our board of directors,” said Chairman Richard Beattie. “Lyle brings deep experience as a client-facing leader in the financial services industry. We look forward to his contributions to the board.”

Logan is executive VP and managing director of the Global Financial Institutions Group for the Northern Trust Company. He has held several leadership positions during his 15-year career with Northern including executive VP and managing director, institutional sales and client servicing for Northern Trust Global Investments; head of Chicago private banking within Northern’s personal financial services unit; and as SVP and personal financial services manager for Northern’s Midwest region. He worked for Continental Bank prior to joining Northern.

Logan also serves on the boards of Chicago’s Children’s Memorial Hospital, The Field Foundation and DeVry Education Group Inc.
