Majority of staffing firms expect 2021 revenue growth of between 10% and 30%

A majority of staffing firms expect 10% to 30% growth in annual revenue in 2021 compared to 2020, according to the “State of the Staffing Nation” report released today by talent engagement platform Sense. Only 2.3% of staffing firms expect no growth.

The report surveyed 614 staffing leaders from 212 different staffing firms across 26 industry verticals.

Here’s what the report found about revenue growth expectations for 2021 compared to 2020:

  • 8.3% of staffing firms expect revenue growth from flat to 10%
  • 36% of staffing firms expect revenue to grow between 10% and 20%
  • 26.7% of staffing firms expect revenue to grow between 20% and 30%
  • 8.1% of staffing firms expect revenue to grow between 30% and 40%
  • 18.6% of staffing firms expect revenue growth of more than 40%
  • 2.3% of staffing firms expect no revenue growth

Other findings in Sense’s report include:

  • 66% of firms said “time-to-fill” is the most important performance metric to watch in the next 12 months.
  • 82% said relationship building is a key trait among their most successful recruiters.
  • 41% of staffing firms say it takes their recruiters more than six hours to respond to new leads.
  • Only 14% said their recruiters are able to place new candidates within five days.
