MBO Partners announced it acquired its UK- and Ireland-based affiliates that operate as MBO Partners Ltd. The UK and Ireland operations have offices in London; and Dublin and Cork, Ireland.

MBO Partners CEO Miles Everson said the companies have been fulfillment partners with MBO for 3½ years and the ownership of the firms had experience working with independent contractors for years prior to that.

“They’ve been a terrific fulfillment partner,” Everson said, adding it’s a good time for the acquisition. MBO will bring its technology stack, allowing the UK and Ireland operations to leverage a common platform for an integrated and seamless experience.

The deal also comes as the UK gears up for IR35 to take effect in 12 months, making independent contractor compliance even more important. Everson said the UK is also, arguably, the second-largest market for type of independent talent the company serves. And the Ireland operations will offer the company an entryway into Europe.

The entire UK and Ireland teams will remain in place under the leadership of Fergal Lennon. Services provided by the UK and Ireland operations were the same as those provided by MBO in the US.

The acquisition has closed though the terms of the transaction were not announced.
