Lyons HR acquired Aabakus Inc., a professional employer organization based in Nashville, Tenn., effective June 30. The transaction expands Lyons HR's footprint to the Nashville employment market.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The Aabakus brand will transition to Lyons HR; President and CEO Susan Goyer will remain with the firm.

“We believe becoming part of Lyons HR was an excellent decision for our clients, who will receive additional, improved service offerings under Lyons HR,” Goyer said.

Lyons HR, based in Florence, Ala., counts 13 office locations in four states. It serves more than 610 clients in 40 states, totaling more than 12,000 worksite employees. The PEO division targets businesses with fewer than 100 employees in the grey-collar sector, while the staffing operation targets employers of all sizes.
