LegalPartners LLC acquired Chicago’s Plante Moran Staffing, a provider of legal staffing services including document review, contract attorneys and direct hire attorney placement. LegalPartners is the holding company for legal placement and staffing brands Legalpeople, The Partners Group and Engage.

The transaction fclosed March 20.

The acquisition bolsters LegalPartners’ size and capabilities in Chicago, adding 10 employees and expanding its document review capacity to more than 400 seats. The direct hire team is the first expansion of LegalPartners’ permanent placement line of business into the Midwest. Plante Moran also adds to LegalPartners’ foreign language staffing and project management expertise.

Plante Moran’s document review business and employees, including Group Head Jill Rorem, will join the company’s Legalpeople operating unit. Its direct hire and substantive contract attorney business and employees will join The Partners Group headquartered in Atlanta.

LegalPartners maintains Legalpeople and The Partners Group offices in eight US cities and document review centers in four US cities. The acquisition brings the organization to 50 internal employees and approximately 700 contract attorneys working on projects. The company is run by Jim Kosciolek and David Gruskin.
