“I knew this was a potentially big case, but when I started it in 2013, Uber was just getting going. I didn’t realize it was going to skyrocket in size as quickly as it did. And I also didn’t fully realize at the time that it was going to be the leader of a whole wave of companies that would try to capitalize on its business model,” attorney Shannon Liss-Riordan, who represented Uber drivers in an independent contractor misclassification case told The Recorder. A settlement in the case for $100 million was reported last week.
