Job candidates turn to old trick to get past AI filters (The Washington Post)

July 24, 2023

As AI filters proliferate, a résumé trick called “white fonting” is making a comeback as candidates seek to get past the AI and get their résumés in front of humans, The Washington Post reported. The technique calls for copying a list of relevant keywords or the job description itself and pasting it in a résumé using a white font color. That means humans won’t be able to read the text but AI filters would. “I don’t think it’s ever gone away,” Sachit Kamat, chief product officer at hiring and talent platform Eightfold AI, told the Post. “It’s probably popular [again] because competition for jobs is high.”
