Infosys says SEC has begun probe into whistleblower complaints

October 24, 2019

Infosys Ltd. (NYSE: INFY) reported today the US Securities and Exchange Commission has begun an investigation into whistleblower claims that the company announced earlier this week. In addition, the Securities and Exchange Board of India has requested additional information on the claims.

The company said it will cooperate with the SEC and provide information to the SEBI.

Infosys also reported it is aware of a class-action lawsuit in US federal court, and said it intends to vigorously defend itself.

The company has already begun an internal investigation into the complaints, which it said were related to alleged unethical practices, some relating the CEO’s travel. Both anonymous complaints were received Sept. 30. The CEO and CFO have been recused from the matter, and the company retained law firm Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas to conduct the investigation.
