More than two-thirds of credentialing processes, 67%, take longer than five to six weeks to get a clinician up and running, according to a survey released today by SkillSurvey Inc.
Additional survey findings include:
- 62% of respondents said it takes from one to three weeks for peer references to respond to traditional credentialing requests.
- 50% of respondents report that it takes one to two weeks to verify a hospital affiliation.
- Nine in 10 organizations believe it is critical to continue improving the applicant onboarding experience within the credentialing process.
The survey included almost 500 healthcare industry leaders.
