HP plans to cut 4,000 to 6,000 jobs globally by 2025

November 23, 2022

Hewlett Packard is the latest to join the list of tech giants, including Amazon and Meta, announcing layoffs. The computer maker reported Tuesday that it plans to lay off 4,000 to 6,000 employees globally by the end of 2025.

It noted this move as part of its “Future Ready Transformation” plan for 2023, which aims to drive structural cost savings through digital transformation, portfolio optimization and operational efficiency.

The company reported fourth-quarter revenue fell 11.2% year over year to $14.8 billion. It also narrowed its earnings guidance for the first quarter.

“We had a solid end to our fiscal year despite navigating a volatile macro-environment and softening demand in the second half. In Q4, we delivered on our non-GAAP EPS target while also completing our three-year value creation plan and exceeding our key metrics,” HP President and CEO Enrique Lores said.
