GrubHub this week faces two of its former drivers in a California court in a case that could set a precedent around independent contractor misclassification and the gig economy, TechCrunch reports. While the GrubHub lawsuit is very similar in nature to previous cases involving Uber and DoorDash, it is the first of these W-2 versus 1099 cases to make it to trial.
