The global industry is projected to grow 11% this year, following stellar growth of 23% in 2021, according to the latest “Global Staffing Market Estimates & Forecasts” report released by Staffing Industry Analysts.
SIA estimates global staffing revenue increased by 23% to generate $620 billion in 2021, with the US, Japan and the UK accounting for 53% of the total revenue. The report also found an additional 12 countries generated at least $5 billion in staffing revenue in 2021.
Overall, 15 countries comprised 88% of global market share in 2021.
Europe, the Middle East and Africa account for 41% of global revenue, followed by the Americas at 33% and Asia Pacific at 27%. In all three regions, temporary staffing was the dominant revenue generator.
Globally, 86% of staffing revenue comprised temporary staffing, and the remainder consisted of place and search.
Here are the five largest countries by staffing revenue in 2021:
- US, 30%
- Japan, 15%
- UK, 8%
- Germany, 6%
- France, 6%
Additionally, the report found the Canadian staffing market generated C$9.6 billion in revenue, or $7.7 billion in US dollars.
