GPS navigation firm TomTom to use Pontoon MSP

December 29, 2015

TomTom, a global maker of GPS navigation and map products based in Amsterdam, recently chose Pontoon’s MSP to manage its external temporary worker program. This is TomTom’s first use of an MSP, which will be used primarily for IT skill sets. The VMS provider in the deal will be Beeline.

The partnership between TomTom and Pontoon began Nov.16, and the initial contract will span three years. Pontoon will manage the external temporary worker program in all of TomTom’s 37 markets.

TomTom makes navigation devices, GPS sports watches and action cameras. It has more than 4,400 employees in 37 countries worldwide and consists of four business units: Consumer, automotive, licensing and telematics. The company, founded in 1991, provides navigable maps for 134 countries and reaches more than 4 billion people.

“We are thrilled and simply honored to support TomTom’s External Temporary Worker Program,” said Terri Manley, head of EMEA delivery for Pontoon. “TomTom empowers movement, and their technology helps people around the world make smarter decisions every day. I’m confident that Pontoon can support its mission by delivering the best talent — people who will help TomTom maintain their brand promise to customers.”

“Pontoon is a vital part of our continued success,” said Arne-Christian van der Tang, senior VP, group human resources at TomTom. “The partnership will drive quality processes related to management of our External Temporary Worker Program, ensuring that TomTom is optimally equipped to deliver on company goals across the countries we operate in.”
