Recruitment process outsourcing provider Cielo founder and CEO Sue Marks will step down from the CEO role effective May 31 and turn the job over to Marissa Geist, who presently serves as chief operating officer. Geist will also join Cielo’s board.

Marks will continue to serve on the board as well.

“A core tenet of our business is that talent is the main differentiator in any company — and that includes our own,” Marks said. “Since I began working with Marissa many years ago, she quickly demonstrated her impressive leadership skills, talent and passion for Cielo’s client-centric mission.”

Brookfield, Wisconsin-based Cielo has more than 3,600 employees across 108 countries, and Marks is in SIA’s Staffing 100 Hall of Fame.

Upcoming CEO Geist joined Cielo in 2014 and reported directly to Marks. Geist’s previous roles at Cielo include executive VP and managing director of the Americas. She first joined the company as senior VP of solution design and implementation. Prior to Cielo, Geist spend 11 years at ManpowerGroup in a number of senior roles.
