Specialist Staffing Solutions Inc., the US division of SThree Plc UK targeting STEM markets, appointed Emmett McGrath as president of Real Staffing USA and executive VP of Specialist Staffing Solutions Inc., new positions within the firm. He will also join both the USA board and the global SThree Plc general management board.

McGrath was president of the life sciences and allied healthcare divisions of On Assignment Inc. (NYSE: ASGN) from September 2004 to June 2014. Most recently, he was founder and president of ClearEdge Advisors, LLC, a STEM-focused management consulting firm he launched in August 2014. McGrath will discontinue services with ClearEdge advisors.

Specialist Staffing Solutions provides services through five brands in the US: Real Staffing (life sciences), Huxley (banking and finance), Progressive Global Energy (energy), Computer Futures (tech) and Newington International (specialist exec search). It currently has operations in New York, Boston, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco and San Diego with plans to open several more offices in the United States in the next year.

Specialist Staffing Solutions US revenues rose 73% year over year to $180 million in 2014; Real Staffing is its largest brand in the US.
