Former Eliassen exec acquires search firm

May 07, 2018

The Q Works Group Inc., an affiliate of MRINetwork, announced Michael Clegg acquired the North Carolina-based company. Joe Woerner, the founder and previous president, retired after 16 years of operation.

Q Works provides executive placements globally in the lightning, automotive, and manufacturing/building industries. Founded in 2002, the company operates offices in Charlotte and Greenville, NC, and recruits for both US and international companies. It has partnered with more than 50 European-owned firms, particularly in the German market.

The transaction closed in April; terms were not disclosed. Woerner will remain onboard temporarily for a transitional period.

Clegg has nearly 20 years of experience in the staffing industry. Most recently, he was VP of the southeast region for Eliassen Group.

“We look forward to taking the business to the next level as we leverage the current team and incorporate new strategies, including consultant staffing services,” Clegg said. “We also plan to expand the offerings with our current clients and add healthcare and technology expertise.”

MRINetwork has approximately 600 franchised offices in 40 countries. Parent company CDI ranks No. 20 on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of largest US staffing firms.
