Florida and Texas top list of states healthcare pros are eyeing for jobs

What states are getting the most interest from nurses and allied healthcare professionals when seeking jobs? The answer is Florida and Texas, according to the second-quarter Candidate Blueprint Index released by StaffDNA, a Dallas-based firm that compiles and distributes resume and employment data on healthcare professionals.

The data shows 13.6% of candidates for healthcare professional roles in StaffDNA’s system expressed interest in positions in Florida while 10.7% targeted Texas. California and Georgia followed at 8.9% and 5.8%, respectively; North Carolina completed the top five with 5.3%.

Forty percent of applicants were seeking permanent positions, up from 36% in the first-quarter index. The types of jobs receiving the most interest in the top 10 states:

  • Permanent: 40%
  • Travel assignments: 23%
  • Local contract: 30%
  • Per diem: 14%

The index used data obtained from a sample of nursing and allied health professionals who registered with StaffDNA from April 1 to June 30, 2017.
