Federal workers are turning to the gig economy as the shutdown drags on, Vox reported. One worker said she wanted to make herself “shutdown-proof.” Vox also reported online staffing firm Fiverr has seen a 41% increase in services offered in the DC area after the government shutdown. Some workers are also starting to drive for Uber.
