Egon Zehnder revenue down 4.6% in 2020 amid Covid; says results reflect firm’s resilience

March 18, 2021

Egon Zehnder, a global executive search and leadership advisory firm, today reported global revenue for 2020 fell 4.6% in constant currency to 678 million Swiss France (US$767.8 million) from the company’s all-time high in 2019.

“In a year marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, the related economic crisis and social unrest, the results are a testament to the depth and quality of relationships Egon Zehnder consultants have with clients,” Egon Zehnder CEO Edilson Camara said.

The firm’s leadership assessment, family business advisory, private equity and board practices delivered robust growth, Camara said. And the company hired 40 new consultants last year.

Jill Ader, chair of the firm, said the results show the firm’s flexibility and resilience. “As a firm led by our strong values, we made the decision to create psychological safety without layoffs so we could be utterly client-focused,” Ader said.

Last year, Egon Zehnder also released its 16th Diversity Tracker report, which found 23.3% of board positions globally were held by women in 2020, up from 20.4% in 2018.
