Digital nomads say they will stick to the road: Fiverr

June 08, 2023

As the global workforce continues to evolve, employees are traveling more while working, according to a report released today by talent platform Fiverr. The report found that more than 80% of digital nomads plan to continue living the lifestyle for up to the next five years.

Digital nomads are people who earn a living online while working at locations of their choosing rather than a fixed location.

“Work and travel are becoming increasingly blended as the global workforce evolves,” said Gali Arnon, CMO at Fiverr. “It’s incredible to see this type of work becoming more common across the globe. This growing group of workers is taking control over their careers while enriching their lives and experiencing what the world has to offer.”

The report also found that 83% of digital nomads plan to change locations at least every six months, up 10% compared to last year. In addition, more women are leaning into the trend as they prioritize flexibility and autonomy.

Digital nomads are also earning more or the same since committing to this lifestyle, according to the report. Of those surveyed, 94% said their earnings have increased or remained stable, while those that have previously experienced financial issues decreased by 15%.

Meanwhile, Europe and the US rank as the prime locations for this group of workers.

The survey was conducted by Censuswide on behalf of Fiverr in May. It included 2,000 digital nomads who have worked in Portugal, Spain, Indonesia, Mexico, the US or Italy in the last 12 months.
