Dedicated Nursing Associates, Inc. acquired Priority Medical Staffing, effective June 1, in deal aimed at extending its footprint in the Southern US.

Priority Medical Staffing provides medical staffing and in-home services in Louisiana, Texas and the surrounding areas. It has 250 nurses and 12 office employees, and counts $6 million in annual revenue; hospitals are its main source of revenue. 

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Priority Medical Staffing will rebrand to Dedicated Nursing Associates and operate out of its current Shreveport, La., office. Its owner is retiring, but the management team will remain.

With the addition of Priority Medical Staffing, Dedicated Nursing Associates now counts more than 5,300 employees and more than 2,800 clients. It currently operates 18 office locations nationwide.

Dedicated Nursing Associates, based in Pittsburgh, has acquired eight companies in the past 12 years, but historically 89% of its growth has been organic. The firm is included on Staffing Industry Analysts’ 2017 list of fastest-growing staffing firms.

“DNA will continue to pursue future acquisitions and we anticipate another acquisition prior to year-end,” President and CEO Craig Fusting told SIA. “Our focus is on pursuing travel nursing, per diem nursing, home care and allied healthcare firms.”
