Death of temporary worker prompts discussion on plans to drop Ontario Bill 148 (CityNews)

A temporary worker’s death in Ontario has prompted some politicians to raise concerns about the provincial government’s plan to scrap Ontario Bill 148, CityNews reported. The law covered safety issues as well as mandated equal pay for temporary workers and a C$15 minimum wage. The worker’s recent death occurred at a company affiliated with Fiera Foods, which had been investigate for other workplace deaths.
