Contract Watch: AMN

January 24, 2011

San Diego-based AMN Healthcare Services (NYSE: AHS), the nation's largest healthcare staffing company, announced today it entered into a managed services program (MSP) agreement with PeaceHealth to provide nursing and allied healthcare clinical professionals for its six-hospital system that serves communities across Alaska, Washington and Oregon.
AMN will provide a mix of per diem and travel healthcare professionals. The companies signed the deal in November, but implementation is now under way.
The agreement with PeaceHealth is one of 15 contracts AMN has been awarded since last July when it announced plans to acquire Arlington, Texas,--based Medfinders. The MSP agreements executed since the acquisition was announced have a cumulative gross spend under management by AMN of more than $40 million.
PeaceHealth operates hospitals, medical groups, a chemical dependency program, healthcare joint ventures and other services in Alaska, Washington and Oregon.
