Ciett rebrands to World Employment Confederation

September 21, 2016

The International Confederation of Private Employment Services (Ciett), an organization that represents the staffing industry on a global level, today rebranded as World Employment Confederation.

The new brand reflects the industry’s extended territory — the world of employment — and its leadership in an environment that is rapidly changing, according to the organization.

“Since the establishment of Ciett in 1967, the services provided by our members have dramatically expanded, reflecting the broadening role our industry plays in the labour market and the economy,” Pennel wrote in a letter to stakeholders. “Our confederation has evolved from representing purely temporary agency work to a wide range of HR services including recruitment, career management, recruitment processes outsourcing and managed services. As for the industry, it has grown from providing labour flexibility to offering innovative workforce solutions in order to simplify the increasing complexity of labour markets.”

World Employment Confederation members comprise 50 national associations and seven of the largest international staffing companies. They provide access to the labor market and work to more than 70 million people worldwide and serve about 5 million organizations annually.
