Canadian staffing index up 8% year over year

May 18, 2018

The Canadian staffing index, which measures staffing activity in Canada, rose 8% in April on a year-over-year basis to a reading of 107.

“April’s strong year-over-year growth can be largely attributed to the greater number of working days this year,” said Maxim Kupfer, research analyst at Staffing Industry Analysts. “There were two additional working days this month compared to last year.”

On a month-over-month basis, the index rose 2% in April.

The Canadian Staffing Index measures the hours of labor performed by a sampling of temporary and contract workers in the staffing industry. Staffing Industry Analysts produces the index on behalf of the Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services.
