California governor signs legislation banning salary history inquiries (Lexology)

California joins other states and municipalities in banning inquiries into salary history of applicants, Benjamin Ebbink of law firm Fisher Phillips writes in a Lexology post. Gov. Jerry Brown yesterday signed Assembly Bill 168, a bill that prohibits public and private employers from seeking or relying upon the salary history of applicants for employment. The law takes effect on Jan. 1, 2018.
