Business representative says Quebec law will impact staffing users (Montreal Gazette)

A proposed law in Quebec will require equal pay for temporary workers and make staffing buyers jointly responsible for financial obligations to workers, Stéphane Forget, president and CEO of the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec, wrote in an opinion piece in the Montreal Gazette newspaper. Forget cited a number of other effects Bill 176 would make on businesses. The Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec represents 60,000 businesses in the province. Recently, Ontario also saw new rules go into effect that equal pay for temps.
