Brightfield names Ron Mester as CEO

July 19, 2016

Brightfield Strategies announced Ron Mester will serve as CEO, a new role at the firm, effective Aug. 1. Brightfield Strategies is a partner with Staffing Industry Analysts and consults with Fortune 500 companies on contingent workforce strategy initiatives.

Brightfield’s co-founder Jason Ezratty will remain as president and chairman.

Mester was president and CEO of Staffing Industry Analysts from 2002 to in 2010. Most recently, he served as president and CEO of ERE Media Inc., which provides publications and events targeting the recruiting and HR industries. Former ERE executive David Manaster is rejoining the company as CEO, according to a blog post. Manaster founded ERE in 1998 but left in 2012, handing the reins over to Mester.

Earlier in his career, Mester spent 11 years with Towers Perrin (now Willis Towers Watson), where he advised Fortune 1000 companies on human capital strategy, organizational effectiveness and overall business strategy. He also served as an executive at two venture-backed startups in the business intelligence space and earned a patent for online survey tool Zoomerang, which was acquired by SurveyMonkey in 2012.

“We couldn’t be more honored to have Ron join the Brightfield family,” co-founder and Executive VP Christopher Minnick said. “Our relationship dates back to Brightfield’s inception in 2006 when, as our first client, he hired us to help augment Staffing Industry Analysts’ buyer-focused products, including contingent workforce program models and methodologies. We spent significant time and energy searching for the right chief executive and it was clear that Ron was the perfect person for the job. Our mutual respect and trust has only grown stronger over the years, and we are thrilled to have Ron lead Brightfield as we experience such explosive growth.”

Mester will divide his time between the Bay Area and Brightfield’s New York, Minneapolis and London operations.
