AtWork Group, a national staffing franchise, announced Phoenix employment agency Momentum Specialized Staffing joined its Phoenix location, effective Sept. 4. The combined company will operate as AtWork Group, Phoenix, and provide light industrial, administrative, medical, skilled labor and direct hire services.

AtWork described the transaction as a merger. Momentum Specialized Staffing owner Michael Hayes will become a minority equity partner of Donnell & Jones LLC dba AtWork Group, which has two locations — Phoenix and Tyler, Texas — and provides AtWork Personnel Group and AtWork Medical Group services. 

Terms of the transaction were not announced.

Founded in 2000 as a logistics staffing provider, Momentum Specialized Staffing expanded its service offerings after being purchased by Hayes in 2003 and now targets skilled labor placements and direct hires.

Hayes will now be responsible for sales as director of business development. Raina Fuentes, previously the office manager at Momentum Specialized Staffing, is now assistant branch manager of personnel.

“We had been looking for expansion opportunities for some time,” said Robert Donnell, owner of the Phoenix AtWork location. “Momentum’s experience in skilled labor and direct hire combined with our expertise in light industrial and medical create a comprehensive service offering for our clients and an excellent resource for Phoenix area job seekers.”

Prior to the transaction, Phoenix AtWork was tracking to generate about $4 million in 2017 revenue. It had five internal employees and placed about 150 to 200 workers in the field each week.
