Artech acquires CDI’s Talent and Technology Solutions business

October 02, 2018

Artech Information Systems LLC, a multinational staffing and professional services firm, acquired the Talent and Technology Solutions business unit of CDI Corp., a Philadelphia-based provider of IT and engineering staffing.

The transaction closed Oct. 1; terms were not disclosed. The business line will transition to the Artech brand.

CDI’s Talent and Technology Solutions business unit includes approximately 2,500 professionals that provide IT and engineering talent sourcing services and technology solutions to clients across North America.

The acquisition expands Artech’s global talent pool of billable team members and support staff to more than 10,000 and adds or expands its service delivery locations in Atlanta, Dallas, Phoenix, West Virginia and Canada. Additionally, Artech’s annualized revenue run rate will increase to more than $750 million.

“We expect this transaction to accelerate growth as we work with TTS’ teams to expand our client base and support capabilities in strategic regions throughout the United States and Canada,” Artech Executive VP Ajay Poddar said.

AE Industrial Partners LLC — a private equity investor specializing in aerospace, power generation, and specialty industrial companies — acquired CDI Corp. in September 2017 in a deal valued at $157.5 million. And in December 2017, engineering consulting and staffing provider Belcan LLC — also a portfolio company of AE Industrial Partners — acquired CDI’s aerospace and industrial equipment business unit.

Artech, headquartered in Morristown, NJ, was founded in 1992. It provides workforce solutions, IT consulting, and SOW-project services. It ranks No. 11 on the list of largest IT staffing firms in the US.

Fairmount Partners acted as financial advisor to Artech.
