ApTask names new CEO; previous chief exec is now first franchisee

September 26, 2017

ApTask, an Edison, NJ-based staffing provider, promoted Chief Sales Officer Eddie Bright Jr. to CEO, effective this month.

He replaces Joe Butler in the role; Butler will remain an integral part of ApTask and is moving on to become the first ApTask franchisee.

Bright joined ApTask in April 2015 as a chief sales officer.

“My goal is always to add value to our platform and more importantly provide this value to our clients' partners,” Bright said. “With the advent of franchising the growth in front of ApTask, the next few years present a wonderful execution track."

Between 65% and 70% of ApTask’s business comes from the IT sector, but it also provides staffing in finance/accounting, legal and administration segments. It has approximately $50 million in annual revenue and places about 310 consultants.

“Eddie is uniquely qualified to lead,” founder Taj Haslani said. “Eddie knows every ApTask segment, technology area, and geography, and will move the company forward with the speed required to capitalize on the opportunities in front of us.”
