The aging US population is creating major workforce shortages in healthcare, AMN Healthcare Services Inc. (NYSE: AMN) President and CEO Susan Salka said in an interview with CNBC “Mad Money” host Jim Cramer. “We have a lot of things driving our industry, certainly starting with an aging population, which drives utilization of healthcare,” Salka said. “But it also creates shortages within the healthcare workforce.” She noted “really severe” shortages within nursing, physician, allied, and even leadership.
