ASGN buys tech support vendor to FBI for $46 million; expects revenue to be up 12%

ASGN Inc. (NYSE: ASGN), a Calabasas, Calif.-based professional staffing provider, acquired DHA Group Inc. for $46 million in cash. DHA’s customers include the FBI and other government entities. Separately, ASGN announced that it expects to report fourth-quarter 2018 revenue rose 11.8% year over year on a pro forma basis to $929.7 million.

The revenue number is an estimate at this time subject to year-end review processes and completion of its 2018 audit; the company plans to formally report its results on Feb. 13.

Turning to its acquisition, DHA provides mobility, cybersecurity, cloud and IT services to the FBI and other government operations. It has more than 200 security-cleared employees working on a range of national security missions, according to the announcement. DHA posted approximately $50 million in revenue in 2018 and that is expected grow by 20% this year. It will become a part of the ECS segment at ASGN, a division formed when the company had acquired federal contractor ECS in April 2018.

“The DHA Group is an attractive acquisition for ECS and will help to further deepen ECS’ long-term relationship with strategic customers in homeland, law enforcement, defense and intelligence agencies,” said Peter Dameris, CEO of ASGN. The plan is to grow ECS revenue to more than $1 billion before 2021.

DHA was founded in 1994 and is based in Washington.
