ASA staffing index holds steady

June 21, 2016

The American Staffing Association’s newly benchmarked index measuring employment in the US staffing industry held steady at a reading of 94.10 for the week of June 6 to June 12. Temporary and contract staffing employment rose 1.41% from the prior week and edged up 0.5% from the same week last year.

The staffing employment index averaged 93.60 during the past four weeks. The average was 0.16% lower than the same period last year.

The weekly ASA Staffing Index survey data rely on periodic benchmarks from the US Census Bureau. This week, ASA revised historical figures for staffing employment and ASA staffing index values back to 2007, based on the latest benchmark data from the 2012 US Economic Census of Business, which was released in March 2016.
