The Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services announced participants in its Workplace Safety and Insurance Board safety groups program earned C$1.3 million in workers’ comp premium rebates by reducing the frequency and severity of workplace injuries in 2017.

Ninety corporate members participated in ACSESS’ Workplace Safety and Insurance Board Safety Group program. Each member selects five safety elements to initiate or improve upon from the WSIB’s “achievement list,” which includes: hazard recognition and assessment; organization; and leadership. Participants can earn rebates of up to 6% of their WSIB premiums for reaching goals.

As a sponsor, ACSESS oversees member companies’ participation, liaises with health and safety organizations, measures progress and regularly reports back to the WSIB.
