ACA debate may include ‘skinny repeal’ that removes employer mandate (Los Angeles Times)

July 26, 2017

Senate Republicans yesterday agreed to open debate to overhaul the Affordable Care Act, but voted down a revised bill that would repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. The Los Angeles Times reported Republicans may instead settle on a “skinny repeal” that would repeal just a few key parts of Obamacare, including the law’s mandate that all Americans carry insurance and that bigger employers must provide it to their workers, or pay fines. The skinny repeal could also end some taxes, including one on medical device makers.
