Representatives of more than 50 labor organizations asked congressional leaders to reject a new classification for workers — between independent contractor and employee — that was called for by Uber Technologies Inc. (NYSE: UBER) CEO Dara Khosrowshahi in a letter last month, The Hill reported. They argued the drivers should be classified as employees.
