Katherine Alvarez is managing editor at Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA), contributing to SIA’s award-winning publications including SIA Global Daily News, industry-specific segment newsletters and Staffing Industry Review magazine. She also took over responsibility for SIA’s buyer-focused newsletter CWS 3.0, providing contingent workforce managers and other staffing services buyers with the most relevant news and insights to better manage their programs in the changing world of work.

Prior to joining SIA’s editorial team as a reporter in 2012, Alvarez worked for Crittenden Research writing and editing B2B newsletters covering manufactured housing, retail space and specialty coverages insurance. She has also worked as a freelance business journalist, regularly contributing feature articles to various magazines including NorthBay biz and Emlen Media’s publications covering the commercial and industrial facilities market for schools, healthcare and correctional institutions.

Alvarez has a Bachelor of Arts in journalism from the University of Oregon.
